There are hundreds of programs out there that rank as Free Software and too many innovative ones are lost in the chaotic mob. I post about these, and about FOSS in general from the point of a lay user who’s interested in the stuff.

I noticed that I use a lot of FOSS programs and have come to take them for granted. Other people, wanting something for some obscure purpose or the other ask me if I have a program to do it, and I just have to look in the repositories. There’s a program for everything, but it just doesn’t get discovered. The variety and number of programs on Linux that are available for free is amazing and so few people know of this wondrous resource.
